Houston media art organization Aurora Picture Show joins Houston Public Library in presenting a thought-provoking selection of creative short films that traverse the boundaries of our expectations. This hour-long, curated program comprises a diversity of quests and creative imaginings–from a playfully animated journey through the history of space exploration by Czech filmmakers Jan Turek and Prokop Jelinek’s, to UK duo Semiconductor’s film about the fascinating and absurd process of studying volcanoes, to San Francisco artist Paul Clipson’s experiments transforming cityscape image into vibrant, rhythmic abstractions. Curator Mary Magsamen will introduce and give a brief Q&A after the program.
